There are three main ways to become a millionaire today: have it handed to you (inheritance), win it (lottery), or work your a$$ off for it and make the money yourself. But it is possible for you to become a millionaire in your lifetime.
Now let me be clear, if you are going to work for it, you will not be able to become a millionaire overnight. And working for it, is the only real way (in my mind) to become a millionaire.
It is never going to be an overnight process to become a millionaire. It's going to take work. And the hardest work is going to come from training your mind.
The mindset of a millionaire is the most important thing you can adopt on your journey to becoming a millionaire.
Millionaires always set goals. And they check in on their goals regularly. Most of the time, they will also break those goals down into smaller goals to make them easier to achieve.
The goals don't always have to be related to money or becoming a millionaire. But upon achieving the goals, you are so much closer to becoming a millionaire.
Setting goals is one thing. Going after those goals to achieve them is another. Millionaires always go after their goals.
And you should always go after your goals too. No one else but you can achieve your goals for you.
There is so much information available out there today so that you can always be learning. Obviously you want to do learning about your finances, whether its your personal finances and improving them or handling your business finances.
Find newspapers and magazines and blogs and books to always be reading to continue learning new things every day. Find courses to help you learn new things to help you with your other goals that aren't related to money.
You can learn one new thing a day for the rest of your life and you still won't have learned everything that is available to be learned in the world.
Not only do they avoid wasting time, but they avoid wasting stuff as well.
They don't go out and buy things they won't use. They don't let food go back because they use what they have.
And if there is stuff they know they aren't going to use, they will donate it.
Speaking of donating...
Millionaires are regular givers. Some like to give with their money. Some like to buy stuff to donate. Some donate their time. And some use more than once option for their giving.
There are all kinds of ways that you can donate your money, your time and your stuff. It all depends on what causes you really want to support.
You should have heard that you are a combination of the 5 closest people you hang out with.
So when it comes to money, take the salaries of your 5 closest people you hang out with, add the salaries together and then divide that total by 5. That answer will be how much money you will make because of who you hang out with.
Want to change that answer? Find different people to hang out with.
Want to become a millionaire, hang out with other people that are millionaires. Or if you can't do that, then work your way up to hanging out with millionaires. Start with thousandaires, go to ten thousandaires, then hundred thousandaires and eventually you will get to millionaires. And why stop there, keep going for billionaires!
You don't have to become a Buddhist monk to meditate. You can find guided meditations on Youtube for free. You can use the calm app to meditate. Or you can just spend 5 minutes in quiet to meditate and center yourself.
Millionaires do spend time regularly doing meditation and journaling because it has helped them to get to where they are today.
By meditating and jouraling regularly, it helps you get the crap out of your head that you just hold in and let fester in your mind. Part of being human is having emotions. And the only way to really not let these emotions fester is to feel them. Get them out of your head by writing them down or meditating on them and letting them go.
It can be easy to overspend on just about anything when you shop today. But millionaires go shopping with a plan and a budget.
This helps keep them in check and it also keeps their millions in their own pocket.
You have to live within your means, or not spend more money than you make.
Just because you have money available to spend on your credit card, doesn't mean you have to spend it. Only spend money on the things that you absolutely need and the things that you are going to use.
Budget really can sound like a dirty word. But using a budget and actually sticking to it, will help you handle the money you do already have and even plan for becoming a millionaire.
I get that managing finances isn't always easy for everyone. But it has to be done. Millionaires manage their money, so why can't you?
It's not something that you have to do every single day, it can be a weekly thing that you do. But the more often you do it and create a habit around managing your finances, the easier it will become for you to do manage your finances every day.
They don't believe in the word failure. No not everything is going to go right. And not everything is going to be a success the first time around. But they don't give up. They keep trying to achieve their goals and become a success.
It's time to stop dreaming. Start implementing these traits into your own life today and taking action on your goals to become a millionaire.
I know you can do it. But you have to stop dreaming about it. Stop dreaming about what it would feel like. And just get out there and go for it already.
Save this post for later to come back and learn more about the habits that you can build to become a millionaire.
